The African-European pharmacogenetics partnership, led by Prof. Collen Masimirembwa (AiBST, Zimbabwe) and Prof. Julia Stingl (Germany), has advanced personalized medicine in Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Malawi. Key initiatives like CPA and CPA Plus, funded by GHPP, identify genetic variations to improve drug therapies and reduce side effects. The collaboration, now expanding to Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa, strengthens research capacity and tackles drug resistance in Africa.
